REGISTRATION UPDATE 04/16:

As of today there are 44 teams registered for ESPI 7, leaving just 4 spots open. If you’re still on the fence, figure it out before you miss your chance! Registration is open to in-region teams at Hardcourtbikepolo.org. Out-of-region teams can also register, and will be placed on a waitlist until May 2.

So far, we have registered ESPI 7 players from Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio, Michigan, Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida, Texas, Missouri, Wisconsin, Georgia, California, Colorado, London, UK, and Washington, DC. This is gonna be BIG!

MAY 19, 2012:

DC Bike Polo is proud to announce that the 2012 Eastside NAH Qualifier–aka ESPI 7–will be held on June 2nd and 3rd at our Polo Camp location in Frederick, Maryland.

The Eastside Polo Invitational (ESPI) is one of the oldest and largest hardcourt bike polo tournaments in North America, occurring annually since 2006. Previously held in DC in 2008, the ESPI returns this year bigger and better. Where the 2008 ESPI hosted 22 teams, hardcourt bike polo’s surging popularity resulted in the subsequent tournaments hitting the 48-team max. This year, we expect another massive ESPI, with a 48-team Swiss rounds competition, followed by a 24-team double elimination bracket. To accommodate this interest, the 2012 ESPI will be moved to DC Bike Polo’s “Polo Camp” venue, 30 miles north in Frederick, Maryland. The Polo Camp location will allow us to host 48 teams on 4 courts over the June 2-3 weekend, with substantial low-cost camping and other housing.
